Day 1 of Avocado Puree

Today is the first day that I am giving my boy avocado puree. I decided to mix with rice cereal because I am afraid that he may not get use to taste of the avocado. When buying avocado, choose the one that is not black or too ripe. If the avocado is not ripe, leave it at room temperature for 2-3 days, it should be ready to be eaten.

Cut the avocado in half lengthwise and the scoop out the seed. Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh. Then blend/grind to make a puree
.

Baby reaction:
At first he was showing me the disgusted look. After awhile, he got used to it. Then, he decided not to take it anymore but eventually he finished up his food.

Notes:
Baby may not get use to the taste so, adding some familiar food may help baby to be more receptive to the taste. Avocado is high in nutrients such as fibre, potassium, vitamin E, folate and unsaturated fats.
