This is the first day that I introduce egg yolk to my boy. You can introduce egg yolk when baby is 7 1/2 months or 8 months old but not too young because it could trigger an allergy. Before boiling the egg, I washed the egg shell with soap (you can use the bottle wash liquid). This will help to clean all the dirt/faeces from the shell. I boiled the egg for about 15 to 20 minutes to ensure that the egg is cooked thoroughly. Once the egg is cooled, I peeled off the egg shell and take out just the egg yolk for baby making sure that no egg white remnants on the egg yolk. I mixed the egg yolk with rice cereal and breastmilk.

Baby reaction:
Baby seems to love egg yolk. He is enjoying the meal better than yesterday.
Notes:
Please do not feed egg white now because it is a common allergen. Be careful to cook the egg yolk thoroughly to kill possible salmonella. Do not wash eggs before storing because you will remove the natural protective coating that helps protect against bacterial penetration through the pores in the shell. You will only wash the shells until immediately before you are ready to use the egg. Once your baby has no allergy to egg yolk, you can feed baby eggs 3-4 times a week.
Age:
7 months
