Day 1 of Semolina

Semolina is made from durum wheat, a hard variety of wheat quite unlike the wheat used to make bread. Durum semolina is commonly used in the manufacturing of pasta.

This low-fat, high carbohydrate food offers a lot of energy along with a variety of other nutrients, including lots of protein and several important minerals as well as vitamins E and B. It is low in cholesterol and sodium and fairly high in fibre and can be safely incorporated into a well-balanced diet.

This is the first time I am introducing Semolina to baby. If you have family allergy to wheat, it is best to delay introducing Semolina to baby (after 1 year old or later). If you cannot find Semolina, you can also get Couscous.

I heat up butter in the pan, then added the vegetables like potato, broccoli and carrots and also toufu, then I stir with the heated butter. I added some water to boil the vegetables so that it is soft. Then I added in the Semolina into the pan and added more water/vegetable stock to let the Semolina absorb the liquid so that it is moist in texture. After which, I will blend the cook food to the desired texture for my baby.
